And when you play "creative" mode, you're free to infinitely build with no restrictions. There's so much you can do with the base/vehicle building. Build a farm in it so you can grow food and stuff. It can fit all of your other vehicles you build inside it, you can take them all with you to other planets. Throw some cannons and shit on there and you got a mean combat vehicle.īut what is the coolest part for me, you can build a capitol vessel, basically a MASSIVE ship that's also your base. Add a computer piece that lets it have more omni-directional movement and you can build a crazy rig that "strafes" and spins and does barrel rolls. You have to build engine/rocket/propulsion(etc) blocks basically on any side of your build that you'd want to have movement in that direction. The physics are pretty cool with the propulsion and rockets and stuff like that. Turn off the front engine and the front end of your vessel will drop down so the drill is pointing down.

Like for example you can make a hovercraft, build a drill on the front and turn it into a mining vessel for making tunnels. You can make pretty complex things, add computer systems to your builds that let you tune things like turning individual parts of the engine on/off etc. It's not perfect and can be clunky and buggy, but the vehicle building and base building is really really good. Haven't read all yet but still, huge thanks guys.Įmpyrion Galactic Survival. Salt (You have to search it as "Salt game", which is why I'm putting this here)Įdit: omg I wasn't expecting that much interaction. If that wouldn't bother you, definitely give it a shot) This one is a really wholesome game and the biggest down side of it is that you don't actually control the ship. Space Engineers (I actually tried this earlier and it has SO MUCH potential, definitely worth a try) Volcanoids (That's some badass steampunk theme there, seems really interesting)
A game like subnautica but in space portable#
The Forest (It has something called "House Boat" that could serve as a portable base) The games I tried/played as far as I can remember (including the ones without a vehicle, too) : Subnautica Scrap Mechanic No Man's Sky Satisfactory (this was the closest one I got since it had open world, vehicle/s and survival altogether) Elite Dangerous (God I love this one) RaftĮdit 2: I decided to make a compilation of the games that has been suggested in case this post helps people to find similar games: I just love the feel of having a vehicle which I can continue my journey with while exploring (the open world, preferably) by using it. In fact I don't even have to build a base. No Man's Sky kinda serves the "portable base" thing well but although I'm a huge fan of Space themed games I couldn't play it. Tl, dr I am currently looking for a game in which you can build your own base (that's the easy part) and you can MOVE your base (just like using a submarine as your base!).
